Security at the airports has been enhanced due to heightened security for both UK and overseas flights. This has led to longer check in times as queues keep getting longer. Naturally this can increase the stress levels of passengers and test their patience.

Please understand the reasons why these measures are in place. We all want safe flights and the strict controls are there to protect passengers during their flights.

Make sure you arrive in plenty of time, before your flight, to permit the authorities to carry out the necessary checks. Here is a guideline for how long before your flight, you should arrive:

International flights - check in 3 hours prior to flight time
short haul European flights - check in 2 hours prior to flight time
Domestic flights - check in 90 minutes prior to flight time

Boarding usually begins around 30-45 minutes before departure.

To help flight staff and airport security perform their duties as quickly as possible please make sure you abide by all the security regulations.
